3D Printing Nottingham
Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and look after your personal information when you visit this website, ask us for a quote or order parts from us.
Who we are
3D Printing Nottingham is run by Micronus, Micron House, Unit 7 Forbes Court, Burnley, Lancashire BB11 5UB. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide why and how it is used.
If you have a question about your information, or want to use any of your rights, call us on 0115 671 3705, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, or send us a message through our contact form.
The information we collect
When you ask for a quote
The contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, address and postcode, and your message. You can also attach files, such as drawings, photos, STL or CAD files.
When you call us
We note your phone number and the details you give us about your enquiry.
When you place an order
We keep the details we need to make and send your parts, such as your delivery address, and records of what you ordered and paid for.
When you use this website
Google Analytics records how you use the site: the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type and your approximate location (town or country, not your address). Our website platform also records visit statistics. To protect the contact form from spam, Google reCAPTCHA checks that the form is being filled in by a person; to do this it collects information such as your IP address and details of your device and browser.
Please don’t send us sensitive information, such as details of your health, in a message or file. We don’t need it to quote for or make your parts.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
UK data protection law only allows us to use personal information when we have a lawful basis. These are the purposes we use it for, and the basis for each:
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. Lawful basis: taking steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries.
- To design, print and send your parts, and deal with any questions about your order. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you.
- To keep accounting and tax records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- To protect the contact form from spam and misuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure.
- To understand how the website is used, so we can improve it. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a website that works for visitors. We use the statistics only for that, and you can opt out at any time (see Cookies).
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for marketing.
Your designs and files
Drawings, photos, CAD and STL files you send us are used only to quote for, design and make your parts. We don’t share them with anyone else or use them for any other purpose.
We keep the digital file for each part we make, so we can print a replacement whenever you need one. If you would rather we deleted your files, just ask.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of these companies, including Google, Microsoft and Duda, store or process information in the United States or elsewhere outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to an order: up to two years, then deleted.
- Customer and order records: six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as HMRC requires.
- Your design files: for as long as you might need a replacement part, unless you ask us to delete them.
- Google Analytics data: up to 14 months, after which Google deletes it automatically.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it
- ask for the information you gave us in a format you can pass to someone else
- object to analytics at any time, using the opt-out in the Cookies section
To use any of these rights, call us on 0115 671 3705 or send us a message through our contact form. There is no charge, and we will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator: visit ico.org.uk or call 0303 123 1113.
