Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining is a highly advanced area of 3d printing services. The CNC machine (whatever its nature) will be linked to a computer and CAD (computer aided design) program. It can then read the digitalised data from the CAD and then produce a fully automated process to create the most amazing three dimensional items or 3d printed parts. A CNC production machine can work with a huge variety of materials and can easily cope with all types of designs, no matter how complicated! If your design is highly detailed a CNC 3d print will deliver great results.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What 3D print files can you take?

STL files are the most common 3D print files and we can use them to put into our software and provide a quote once we know ow what material you would like your item printed in

  • Can you help if I don't have a 3D print file?

That's what our design team is able to help with. Our 3D design team can create a 3D print file from 2D drawings or from an actual item if you have one or even the broken item if it provides enough detail and dimensions to enable our design team to recreate it.

We create new files rather than using a 3D scanner  - as we have found this to be a more cost-effective way of creating accurate 3D print files for clients.

  • What size can you 3D print up to?

As a rule of thumb, shoebox-size will be the largest our 3D printers can print up to in one go. Depending on your design and for producing a prototype we can use the 3D printers to print several parts which can then be put together to make a complete unit. Whilst this won't be suitable for all scenarios it has provided opportunities to produce one-off prototypes where other methods would simply be cost-prohibitive.
